CONSERVATION TRUST ATTACKED FOR ACCEPTING OIL GIANT'S CASH
BP, the multinational oil giant has just begun funding the John Muir Trust to look after Schiehallion, the 1083 metre mountain near Aberfeldy bought by the trust eight months ago. One of BP Amoco's most-hated developments, a large new oil field west of Shetland in the north Atlantic, is named after the mountain. (The Sunday Herald, April 30, 2000)

Like the chimeras of legend - the half-fish, half-human-female mermaids - "geeps" contain two distinct species lines, those of a goat and a sheep. Geeps - with the facial markings mostly from the goat and wool from the sheep - are created by fusing embryos from both species in a test tube. (Journal of Science and Medicine, Jan 15, 1989)
